A Historical Timeline of Triad Muslim Center (TMC)

Year 2015
  • August: The shura establishes TMC
  • September: A two-bedroom ranch-style house is purchased on two-acres of land at 2410 Sandy Ridge Rd, High Point, North Carolina 27265
  • October: Remodeling officially begins to convert the ranch-style house into a mosque

TMC officially opens to the public and daily prayers are established. Two additional bathrooms and a wudu area are added to the mosque as part of an expansion renovation to accommodate more congregants

TMC purchases the neighboring half-acre of land for a future mosque expansion plan.

  • Regular Jummah (Friday) prayer is formally established.
  • A Quran class for children that meets four-times a week begins.
  • Guilford County gives approval for the expansion of TMC.

  • Topographical survey is conducted, and the septic field and tank is formally approved by the Sewer and Water Management Department of Guilford County.
  • March 2020: COVID-19 pandemic shifts all classes offered at TMC to virtual learning for the foreseeable future

  • As the Muslim community continues to thrive and prosper, the need to accommodate the growth emerged to establish a full-time Islamic school. TMC’s expansion plan includes increasing the mosque’s capacity to 300 congregants, updating the main prayer hall’s capacity to 200 congregants, creating 45 asphalt parking spots, and establishing ten classrooms for Islamic education.
  • The mosque’s architect prepares and presents the design to Guilford County’s building department for approval – the County approved the design. The plan to expand the mosque is officially underway.

Year 2022
  • January: An opportunity emerged for TMC to purchase an already built larger building at a new location that would accommodate the growth of the community and the goal to build a full-time Islamic school.

  • March: The shura formally votes and approves the relocation of TMC to its new location at 645 Greensboro Road, High Point, North Carolina 27260. TMC raises enough funds to relocate to a larger facility in High Point later in the year. 
  • May: Classes that were offered virtually during the pandemic shift back to being in-person
